Yes, Maggi Fix is an abomination. Real Käsespätzle are a lot of work and quite different from pasta.

For a moment I thought I'd post that picture of Borat. Then, common sense prevailed. ::: [image: ?u=https%3A%2F%2Fmedia2.giphy.com%2Fmedia%2F4j9XOYo6IVDK8%2Fgiphy.gif&f=1&nofb=1] :::

@xenon said in Hell's Basement Apologizes: Foodie means vagina in my language. I still remember my dad losing it with laughter when one of my friends claimed he was a “foodie”. That's Sikh.

@Doctor-Phibes said in Born in the USA: I never understood the appeal of Springsteen. Same here. Never got it. Some catchy tunes, but otherwise...meh.

As one of my friends who works in the profession said... *All I can say is that Ms Acosta is correct. When we make ourselves and our pursuits into god, we are well and truly lost. When we allow self-appointed gods of the psyche to destroy people, when we turn to these false oracles, when we accept their lies for truth and wisdom, we tear down the very fabric of our souls. I've seen the underbelly of this beast. It is beyond disgusting and horrifying.*

I like her. I don't approve of all she has done, but she has a backbone.

Montepulciano is, I think, the most versatile food wine ever. Only Zinfandel comes close. But I love Italian wines, and even French cuisine started in Italy.

@Catseye3 said in Goodbye Greeks: Question. Aside from a whole boatload of grievances, what are all these oppressed minorities contributing, that entitles them to, well, whatever it is they're demanding? It's like if I say to you, "Give me all your money." And you say no, and I say, "Give me all your money, cracker," and you say, "Why should I give you my money?" And I say, "Because you have money and I don't, and that's all that counts. Why you keep asking stupid questions?" For gawd sake's, hush up...You start telling the Truth and ain't no tellin' what might happen!

Chopped liver still has value. Dead meat, not so much. The Clinton era is over.

Ok. I can get behind that. But I’m pretty fond of the nude German chasing the boars today.

@Catseye3 said in What’s for breakfast?: Back in the plush times when I could afford to buy steak, a favorite middle-of-the-night snack was to stand before the open fridge door and dip cold bite-sized pieces of steak into the sour cream container. Yes, I was beaucoup classy even then. Mrs. George does that, but with Ranch dressing.
